How many times have you seen a bubble on the sidewall of a tire?

Unfortunately it’s pretty common to see these pop up on truck tires.  The sad part is, most of these are caused by the tire technician who changed them.

If the tire technician doesn’t follow the proper procedure, the bead of the tire can be damaged during the dismounting and mounting process.  Most importantly, using the right dismounting lubrication and choosing the correct “bite” with the bars.  When this isn’t done, the rim can damage the tire bead.

In the following picture, you can see the injury to the tire.  This injury has allowed air to “leak” under the inner and outer liner.  When you see this on the outside of the tire, there is almost always an identical bubble on the inside as well.
